Wedding Week Bonus

Light up your table with this "something old" project.  Grab a wine glass and a couple of small drinking glasses; make a paper shade and trim them out to create mood lighting for your tables.  Punched hearts let light peek through the shade.

Creative Friday

After the 3-day Memory Works retreat in Utah, all anyone can feel is creative. There were so many great teachers, projects and of course more products than you know what to do with.

When we returned, the Creative Team took control of the blog and created a Wedding Week blog in honor of Creative Team member Lacey Igo, who will soon walk down the aisle. And as you have all seen, the creative juices continued to flow.

I am not sure how to top all of that, but I will try. I am currently obsessed with the new die cuts. They are so cute and versatile and can be used as stencils too. Here are some examples of how Memory Works consultants have been using them.

First, I want to share my Something New Project for the Wedding Week blog that didn't make the blog. It was totally my fault. I missed the deadline :( In the Honey Moon layout, I used the hearts die cut card along with a combo of the Urban Traveler and Summer Simple Stories collections

Kelly Holbrook shared some inspiration in the gallery recently where she really took advantage of the creativity that these stenciled cards can provide.

And Lynne Moore shared some die cut goodness. Don't you love how she used the tag and binder clip. Genious!

Cards & Tags Thursday - Cute Summer Tags

Welcome back to another Cards & Tags Thursday with Katie!!  It's also Wedding Week here on the blog, so make sure you check out BOTH posts today!! 

Today is also my son's 11th birthday.  We celebrated with family over the weekend and BBQ'd.  I thought that creating some fun tags for our lemonade glasses would be a nice touch to the party.

I used the tags in this months' Memory Works Express Kit as well as Simple Stories I Heart Summer stickers. 

These were a fun summer time addition to a BBQ. 

I added ribbon around the neck of a regular mason jar, and then tied the tags on with twine.  They were very cute and functional too.

Rosann mixed a wood grain paper with wood grain letters to give the look of initials carved into a tree. Such a cute card and a great idea!

Challenge Wednesday

Welcome to Challenge Wednesday! The Memory Works Studio has been hopping this month and I have some great  June Challenge entries to share with you submitted by our fabulous Memory Works consultants!

The June Challenge was to try something new and/or share a Father's Day project. The new technique I shared was creating a sewn pocket with some Studio Calico wood veneers inside on my Father's Day card. You can see the original post right here

I love this card by Tessa Oxford. I am inspired to try her NEW technique using glitter  and sequins inside these clear circle pockets! 

This layout by Lisa Harris is a great demonstration of how to use gesso and a stencil to make a fabulous textured background. The design team also loved her layout theme featuring the special guy in her life. "He Said She Said" documents how she and her hubby text message each other. 

Karen Seifert is 99% a card maker but she stretched outside her comfort zone to create this embellished wooden box using some Simple Stories products. I would say Karen could think outside her "box" anytime, wouldn't you?
