Inspiration Friday - More Destinations Inspiration

Hello! I'm here with a couple more Destinations Projects to share.  If you missed yesterday's blog hop focused on this awesome line from Simple Stories, you can check it out HERE.  I really just want to elaborate on the fact that you don't have to have a lot of vacation photos to scrap to enjoy this kit.  My first project is an 8.5x11 layout:

The three large pewter brads are an older Memoryworks product, from American Crafts.  The buttons are from the July Express kit, that kit came with so many cute buttons, I don't think I'll ever use them all :)  Everything else is from the Destinations line.

A 'just because' card:

There weren't too many cards in the hop yesterday, and there really are a lot of options for card makers.  Everything on the card except for the ribbon, button, and twine are from Destinations.

So, if your lack of travel has stopped you from getting the Simple Stories Destinations kit, give it a try...there are endless possibilities!

Product Wednesday My Scrapbooking Space

Product Wednesday Scrapbook Studio Tour:

 I am so sad for my month to come to an end. It went by so fast!  I hope you enjoyed my space; it’s small but flows pretty well. I love seeing all of your ideas and space. Looking forward to the next month of TeamWorks and Guest Designers!!

This is my work table. Its very old and I like to stand and scrapbook so I bought bed risers to give my table a lift :)

 

Storage everything is labled. Mostly so If someone else is scraping with me I can direct them easily to the item.

Paper holders I try to keep them color coordinated but sometimes I am in such a hurry I dont put it back in the right spot.

Ribbon overflow/new basket.

Brads/eyelets/buttons.

Baskets of new papers.

                                  Additional papers coordinated by theme.

       Stickles glitter and flowers. My favorite thing to look at :)

Old Creative Memories file folder that I use for all my rub-ons.

A single folder.

Stickers and other embellishments. I dont use them much so I have to force myself to get them out.

Storage of my albums.

Storage cabinet.

   Chalks and other tools.

         I love Page Maps.... I have both of their books and I have tons of printouts of them as well.

My new window treatments. My sweet hubby made the wooden valance/box for me!!

Last but not least....my ribbons. There are several hundred holes so I just thread them and pull. I have seen so many great ideas for storing ribbon that I like but for me this is portable and "squishable".

Welcome to my Studio!

Hi everyone. I would like to welcome you to my studio. One of my favorite things to do is watch youtube video on craft rooms. I hopefully will post one sometime of my studio. This is the first time that I share my studio to the blog world.

I'm going to give you a little tour of my space, the picture below is taken from the door.

To the right of my desk is the die cut center, if you notice the prima flower bottles are in a spice rack that I found at a thrift shop. (I still need to paint it). I keep all my dies,embossing folders,binding machine and accessories in the cubbies.

The wall next to that is where I used the Ikea towel holders to hold "some "of my punches. In the cubbies I store paper,stickers,my express kits and extra adhesives,glass bottles. in the baskets above I have chipboard shapes, my Melody Ross chip art tools, some flowers and paint too.

To the side I hang templates,patterns that I made and my cricut mats. I also have gaffer tape hanging there.

I found this storage container at Target that holds my glimmer mist and all my altered art stuff. I love it because you can pull out the whole basket and take it with you. I also like that between the fist and second basket there is space for big bottles.

The other wall is the closet. There I keep all kinds of stuff. I like to use the plastic drawers, they hold loads of stuff. On the top shelf I have extra albums, I also have more paper and kits that I have been "collecting" that I have to start using, LOL

The Second side of the closet hold my stamps, and all other stamping accessories.

Ok last wall might be my favorite. I Love my work bench, I tend to stand when I work so this work really well for me with everything handy.

Each drawer hold specific things, there are two that hold ribbon...I really like the stuff!,the top one has tools that I use occasionally, another one has trinkets that I collect when I go thrift shopping, another one hold packing/shipping items, sewing stuff (another hobby of mine),computer stuff in an other one and cricut stuff and some more punches in another. Under the bench I have two baskets that hold canvases and alter items, and a red tool box with real tools (LOL)

One more thing from this area is this basket idea. (A thrift shop find) I just have a dowel through the seam binding rolls and I use a clothes pin to hold them in place.

The second half of my favorite wall is my cricut center. I found the shelf at a thrift shop for $5.00 ( I still need to paint it,too) The plastic peg board was giving to me by my sister. She uses them for a display area at work.

This is my desk area, I'm not sure I like the ink pads there but they come in handy there,(this is another thrift find and again I need to paint it too). the basket to the right hold all my tools that I tend to use regularly and I take to crops.

Express Monday - Whimsy Consultant Projects

The month of April has flown by quickly. Flowers are blooming, the grass is greener and the days are longer. Spring is here!

I introduced you to Whimsy, April's MemoryWorks Express Kit, and showed you projects by home office and TeamWorks members. Now it's time to showcase the creativity of our consultants.

Inspiration Friday - A Stamping Technique

Happy Friday! I'm here this week to show you a little stamping technique I discovered a few weeks ago. If I don't have a particular color of ink pad, I often use markers to ink up my stamps.  It works well enough on smaller stamps, but on larger ones, it tends to be a bit splotchy.  I'm going to show you how to get a little bit more of an even image using a mini mister, craft mat, and blending tool.

What you want to do first is go ahead and ink up the stamp with the marker, then set it aside.

Scribble some ink onto the craft mat.

Spray it ONCE with water, you don't want to dilute the color. You need just enough to make the ink easier to pick up.

Pounce the blending tool around to pick up the ink.

Dab it onto your stamp.

Here is the difference. The one on the left was inked with a marker, the one on the right with the blending tool.

It's not as smooth an image as what you would get with an ink pad, but it is a little more solid.  I'll be back with my final Inspiration Friday post next week, have a good weekend!
