MemoryWorks Express Kit Monday -- Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope everyone is having a safe one. Trick or treating was yesterday in my town. Of course I took Marvin out, this year dressed as a sailor. Of course I had to dig my Navy dress cap out and wore my cap with him. And that was the first time Marvin was outside in snow. Yes, we were "blessed" with 8" of snow Saturday here in PA. It's too early!!! But anyhoo.....As promised I am going to be sharing my projects that I made with the October 2011 MW Express kit. Enjoy!:)

That's is all for my projects. The tag I kept simple using inking and misting and ruffled the paper. The "ghost poop" could be used for party favors filled with white chocolate covered raisins, etc, or given out to kids at trick or treating. I dug out my Sizzix machine and punched the mini milk carton out. I used 2 colors of mist on the cardstock.

So that is it for me this month. I hope you have gotten inspired for all of those new trick or treating photos that you will have. I will post my projects on the MemoryWorks main website in the Idea Gallery with the full list of products used. So check back in there over the next few days for them.

Guest Designer Tuesday: Kemi's Scrap Space!

Wow, I cant believe how fast this month has passed, here it is my last post for my October Guest Designer post. I am really excited about sharing my space with you. Actually after many years of having a nice space in the basement I have finally graduated to the first floor. I have been moving into my new room this past week. I still need to hang my curtains, pictures and bring up the rest of my goodies.

The first picture is of my desk (my old kitchen table painted), and my tool cart. I love this little rolling wood cart, the drawers are perfect for my most used tool.

I use the bookcase to hold my acrylic stamps and miscellaneous items.

I then have my cubes which I also love. They will hold most of my important treasures, including my vendor specific papers (notice that Simple Stories occupy the whole first row).
In the corner is a clip it up , with my colorful drawers that hold my scrap paper by color.
The tall cabinet holds my larger tools. and I have an old white desk for my pc/tv.
I'm fortunate to also have a small walk in closet in which I have my other paper racks, all of my inks, paints, embossing powders and a dresser to hold my ribbons. I cant wait until I am completely moved in, I think it is a comfortable little space to create.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed it. I also want to say thank you to all of MW for allowing me this opportunity as your guest designer. Happy scrapping!

MemoryWorks Express Kit Mondays -- More Inspiration

Another week has gone by and here we are again for another week of inspiration. I just can't get over how fast time is flying by! Next week is the end of the month and Halloween. So that means that my time posting here for the month will be coming to an end already. But for now, I am going to share some more great inspiration from a fellow TeamWorks member. This week's projects are from Sheri Feypel.

LOVE Sheri's projects!! Especially the cute Happy Halloween card and Pillow Treat Box. FYI: the cute spider on the treat box and bat on the card do not come with the Express kit. It is neat to see how you can add other items that you may have on hand to your projects from these Express kits. They both look good with the kit.

So that is it for this week. Be sure to check back next week, between eating candy of course.;) I'll be posting my projects I made from the Express kit.

GD Tuesday: Kemi's altered art

One of the things I love to do is alter things, anything, anytime. My husband said that's why he keeps moving, because if it doesn't move it gets altered (hmm, that's a thought, he does sleep lol). The first project is not technically altered, I had found this big metal key at a resale shop and knew exactly what I wanted to do but didn't have the right paper, until I received the Simple Stories Generations line (LOVE it). I created the page "Key to my Heart" using the SS Generations line, along with some Tim Holtz pieces and wood letters from Pink Paislee.

For the second item, I altered a photo cube, again using the SS Generations line and some Tim Holtz metal pieces. I hope you have enjoyed these projects. Happy Scrapping!!

Inspiration Friday

Today I have a few projects to share with you that I've created in the past few weeks.

First is a layout I created for the October MemoryWorks Challenge (on the MW Studio if you are a consultant come join in!!). I used the My Mind's Eye Mischievous paper set. This is based off a Pagemaps sketch.
Supplies: My Mind's Eye: Mischievous (6x6 Paper Pad, Chipboard); My Mind's Eye Stamps - Blush; Kraft Paper

These next set of images are two 12x12 layouts I made to complete a Baby Steps album for a friend of mine. (To see the complete album check it out on my blog.)

The second layout I made pocket on top and there are 12 cards inserted. My friend can add a picture from each month for the first year of her little one. And add 2 photos on the layout itself (possibly birthday and 1 year old).

Supplies: Simple Stories - Baby Steps (Kit); Cardstock

The last project I want to share with you today is a peek into a guest book I made for my friend. She is getting married in 1 week and asked if I could help her out with her guest book. The guests will fill out a 2 x 4 card with their name, address, phone number and email address and on the back side words for the newlyweds (whether it be words of advice or congrats). After the wedding this will be bound together to make them an address book.

Supplies: 7 Gypsies - Library Card Drawer (index cards I used were purchased separately); Crate Paper - Random (6x6 Paper Pad, Phrase Stickers, Chipboard Accents, Accent Cuts); BasicGrey - Sweet Threads (6x6 Paper Pad), Olivia Letter Stickers; Stamps (Technique Tuesday & Unity Stamp Co.)

There you have it! Make sure to stop by next week for a tour of my space. I have added a few things to my room since last time.
