Sorry I am posting this a little late today.  I am recuperating and did not sleep well last night due to pain and fell asleep in the living room this morning.  It is hard for me to sit here at my desk but here I am anyway.  Anyhoo, this week I am going to share some more projects from the June 2012 MW Express kit.  This weeks projects are from myself and from my fellow team member Caroline Piercy. Enjoy!

There you have it, some more inspiration for you using the June Express kit.  For my Album Cover, I used scrap strips of white and green cardstock to make the fence and grass.  For the Album Cover and Dividers, I used distress stains on them first before embellishing.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the MW Birthday Blog Hop.  There will be lots of inspiration from us team members and prizes!  See you tomorrow!  Until then...........................

Happy Scrappin'!

Creative Cards Saturday: Gallery Inspiration!

WELCOME BACK!  Gallery Inspiration has been my hardest challenge so far this year as a designer.  There are so many amazing projects in the Studio that are inspiring!  For today's post  I chose a Trio card set created by Mariah Heckler.  The reasons I chose hers:
  1. I typically design in sets of THREE
  2. I love that the layout is the same, yet the cards are different.
Here are the THREE cards I did for today.

Cardstock & Stamps:

JilliBean Soup: Coconut Lime Soup Coordinating Paper
JilliBean Soup: Coconut Lime Soup Stamp set by Unity
Simple Stories & Unity: Pocket full of Posies

Have a wonderful rest of today & thanks Mariah for inspiring me!

Inspiration Friday

Hi all!  It's me, Cathie, again to share with you some of my favorite Memory Works products.  I need to tell you that it was really hard for me to choose just a few things to share!  I love almost everything in the new catalog!  First off, the solid cardstock by American Crafts is fabulous!  I love this stuff!

Cardstock is the basic ingredient in all of my scrappy projects.  It is essential to use a quality cardstock to have a quality project.

Second up, I adore the Simple Stories line of products.  It is so hard to pick only one but since I do alot of heritage pages I'd have to say my current favorite Simple Stories line is Generations.  The colors are so rich and help me create beautiful pages for my family to enjoy.

I like to add a little bling to cards and layouts.  Memory Works carries a wonderful line by ZVA. You can choose from several different swirl styles, straight lines or individual dots.  The adhesive on these sparkles is really good and I have never had a problem with them coming off of my projects.

Thank you again for joining me and letting me share some of my favorite products with you.  You can get these amazing products for your projects too.  Contact your local Memory Works consultant or if you don't have a consultant you can use the consultant locater onm the Memory Works website.

Challenge Wednesday ~ It's Gettin' Sketchy!

Hey everyone! Jody's back on the Memory Works Blog for some sketchy business.  This month it's all about Memory Works turning the 1-0 this year.  So, to celebrate this milestone our consultant challenge was to create a birthday themed layout based off this sketch.   Cute huh!

Here is my birthday layout featuring the beautiful Crate Paper Pretty Party papers and stickers.  I added American Crafts rosette ribbon, a few Studio Calico Wood Veneers {hearts & arrows}, a doily, some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, a glassine bag and a tiny bit of MME Washi Tape.  I just love the pink and green together!

If you know me, you know I love adding texture to my layouts and cards.  I wanted to jazz up the glassine bag so I ran it through my Sizzix Texture Boutique and embossed it with a pretty flower pattern.  Next, I slid a tag inside {topped off with a little bit of MME washi tape for the pull tab}where I can hide some more journaling in a fun & pretty way.

Here's some more layering.  I used a butterfly punch {Martha Stewart} on my banner pieces, and on this lower left corner cluster of embellishments.  Check out the white wash wood grain paper that you see through the punched butterfly.  I ran it through my trusty Fiskars paper crimper and rubbed some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it.  The Distress Ink really makes the crimping pop and adds another hint of texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Memory Works Blog today!  Stop back tomorrow to see more from our Guest Designer this month, Jeannie Benson.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for us this week.

Happy Scrappin'!

Oh and don't forget.....
