Challenge Me Wednesday

Good Morning!  Half way through a week, and almost a month!
Last week Rosann posted her challenge for the month to CHALK IT UP and use a chalkboard technique on your project.

I got a little technical on this one.  I actually had the chalking on my photos!!  I happened to take pictures of the kids in front of the chalkboard on the first day of school.

I also used black cardstock for the main part of the page, and used a white gel pen to create some chalk designs.
All supplies form the July 2013 MWExpress Kit.

MW August Challenge Me Wednesday - "Going Places"

Hi everyone... Janey here!  The day isn't over yet, so I think I am just under the wire to share with you the challenge for this month!  Challenge: "Going Places" - To include a layout using signs, post cards and/or maps showing the different places we have gone or done this summer (even if it's a staycation)!
Here is what I was able to create from one of our recent trips.  I used product from MW Express Kits that I subscribe to.  I cut trees and mountains as well as the jeep, signs and map silhouette.  I inked the edges of everything, using my Tim Holtz inks.  I used washi tape from my stash and Stickles for a little bling.  The journaling is on my "postcard" from Simple Stories stash.  I had fun layering everything until I got the desired look.  I used pop-dots to help give a little dimension in a few spots.
Postcard
Signs
Map and More Signs

Won't you join us for this month's challenge?  I'd love to see what you come up with.  There is plenty of time to submit a challenge entry on the Memory Works Studio. The winner will get a prize!

Challenge Wednesday

Hi everyone... Janey here.  This month's challenge is hosted by Design Team Member Meg.  She has asked all of us to come up with a project (card, layout, tag, whatever) as long as we include three supplies.  She wants us to go fishin' in our stash for paper, stickers and a button (or flair).  Seemed pretty easy until I had to come up with it...lol.  So I went to the MemoryWorks July Express Kit and came up with "Life's a Wave" card.  I have a special someone that will be getting this card for his birthday this weekend.  I hope he likes it!
I used stickers, buttons, some twine from my stash, Tim Holtz ink and some pop-dots.  Great challenge!  There is still time to participate in this month's July challenge.  Now let's see what you come up with.

Challenge Wednesday - April Challenge

Hi! It's Kelly here today to introduce the April Challenge. In honor of National Writing Month, the challenge is to 'Journal a Story'. You can interpret this anyway you like...but, are encouraged to include more journaling/details on your page than you normally would.  I'm not much of a journaler myself, so this is a bit tough for me.  I went with documenting a recent conversation that I had with my 2 year old...

The Good Stuff:

Supplies:
Simple Stories - Snap collection, American Crafts Mercantile Thickers, Fancy Pants Hopscotch letter stickers, staples, red journaler, green journaler

Consultants are to upload their projects to the MW Studio by April 30, and one lucky winner will receive a prize from the home office.  If you are not a consultant, you can link your project up right here in the comments, and you too can be eligible!  Let's hear your stories ;)

Challenge Me Wednesday-TH Distress Markers

Hello, its me Christine.  I am so excited to post another Tim Holtz Distress Marker Challenge Card.   I found that my favorite technique is coloring on rubber images with the markers.  I love, love, love the look it gives.  Smiles.

How to: Apply various colors of Distress Markers to the stamp image using the side of the brush tip to colorize.  Repeat with various colors as needed.  Huff warm breath over the stamp and stamp the image on your cardstock.  Using a water brush, paint over the stamped image with water to react with the distress marker ink.  Optional: blend the white space with color.

Challenge Me Wednesday

Hello!  Christy Musack - TeamWorks Member here for
"Challenge Me Wednesday"!

This months challenge on the Studio site for Consultants is:
"Let's see the new stuff"

Who doesn't get super anxious to purchase the newly released products to begin creating with?

For this challenge, I selected the new Simple Stories "Take a Hike" line.  I'm working on a mini 10x6 vacation album full of instagram prints from vacation.  This line is perfect!

 Always on the Go!

In addition to "Take a Hike", I added Bella Blvd and MME washi tapes, Studio Calico wood veneer stars, a doily, twine and some Mister Hueys.

 Ribbit:

Again with this layout I used products from the "Take a Hike" kit.
I do {heart} this collection!
Also used: Bella Blvd and MME washi tapes, Studio Calico wood veneer stars, heart, boy shapes, cloud punches, button, twine and more Mister Hueys.

Check back next Wednesday for more inspiration from our
TeamWorks members!

Challenge me Wednesday - Christmas in July

Hi!  It's Kelly...I am here to share a project for this month's challenge. The challenge is to create a holiday themed project featuring current non-holiday products.  This was a tough one, seeing as most of my current MW products are girly or spring-y.  But, after going through my stash...I decided to create a card using the Simple Stories Aweso{ME} collection....

Joy

The little star sticker embellishment made a pretty cute Christmas ornament.  I dressed it up with a little bling to make it a little more festive, and threaded it with a little twine.

Pairing it  with red and green patterned papers from the collection gave it a pretty good holiday look. So....go through your current MW products, and see what you have. You have until the end of the month to submit your project to be eligible for a prize from the home office.

Supply List:
Simple Stories Aweso{ME} - 6x6 pad, fundamental cardstock stickers, Basics cardstock pack, American Crafts coordinating cardstock pack
button, pearls, rhinestone, embossing folder, scallop circle punch, border punch, twine

Challenge Wednesday

I'm so excited to share a layout using this months Challenge Sketch! Here is the sketch
Last week Sheri shared one of my layouts, I used pictures of my nephew's first birthday in May. I used the My Mind's Eye - Be Amazing.
This week I'm sharing another layout I made with this sketch. This time using pictures of my 3 year old nephew on his birthday in March. In this layout I used the BasicGrey - PB&J line.
You can see you can do so much with a sketch and adapt it to your pictures and add or take away different aspects of a sketch when you put together your layout.

Join the TeamWorks team for a blog hop Tuesday, June 26, 2012! It will start right here on this blog!!

Thanks for joining me this week! Check out some birthday projects on my blog this week! And of course HAPPY 10TH Birthday MemoryWorks!

Challenge Me Wednesday: EXTRA

I'm so glad there's an extra Wednesday in the month of May! We've had great inspiration all month, and it's nice to have a chance to send a little more your way. I have three projects for you--a pop-up card and 2 altered frames--so let's take a look.

For Mother's Day this year, I made a pop-up card for my mom. I used Echo Park's Graceful collection for the patterned paper.

If you pull the little tag at the top, here's what happens:

Here's a close-up of the tag:

And here it is with the envelope (it fits a standard A2 envelope).

Next up are two inexpensive craft frames that I altered. In addition to the Graceful collection, I also used Echo Park's Charming collection. (This and Aweso{ME} by Simple Stories are my favorite boy collections.) The buttons on the "Daughter" frame are from a retired Echo Park collection. The beauty of many of our new collections is that they still coordinate very well with previous collections you might still have in your stash!

I hope you enjoyed a bit of mid-week inspiration. Don't forget to give yourself time to create something this week!
