MW August Challenge Me Wednesday - "Going Places"

Hi everyone... Janey here!  The day isn't over yet, so I think I am just under the wire to share with you the challenge for this month!  Challenge: "Going Places" - To include a layout using signs, post cards and/or maps showing the different places we have gone or done this summer (even if it's a staycation)!
Here is what I was able to create from one of our recent trips.  I used product from MW Express Kits that I subscribe to.  I cut trees and mountains as well as the jeep, signs and map silhouette.  I inked the edges of everything, using my Tim Holtz inks.  I used washi tape from my stash and Stickles for a little bling.  The journaling is on my "postcard" from Simple Stories stash.  I had fun layering everything until I got the desired look.  I used pop-dots to help give a little dimension in a few spots.

Won't you join us for this month's challenge?  I'd love to see what you come up with.  There is plenty of time to submit a challenge entry on the Memory Works Studio. The winner will get a prize!

Lovely layers on

Hello scrappy friends! I cannot believe it's November! I've have three cards to showcase new the My Minds Eye Lavendar Theme 6"x6" pad for you.

First up, my cute little owl card.  I used my EK Success edge punch and Sizzix Texture Boutique to add the layers, embossing and texture to these cards.  I also trimmed a small piece of MME paper to fit behind my little Studio Calico Wood Veneer Birdie... I just love them!  I added some metallic pearls for the eyes and accents around the card as well.

On this sweet card, I added some Tim Holtz Lavish Trim (white ruffle) and brown crochet trim from Hobby Lobby to really soften it up.  I also used my trusty Distress Inks to ink up the edges.  The "Thinking of You" stamp is by Stmapin UP!,  the button is from my stash and I can't create many things without my favorite May Arts burlap string!

On my final card today, I did some more dry embossing, inking and added some more metallic pearls.  I tied the sheer bow with a 1" sheer cream May Arts ribbon.  You might recognize the alpha paper clip from Basic Grey a little while back too.  Oh, and a doily in the background!

Thanks for much for stopping by again today!  Come back tomorrow for more 30 Days, 30 Cards inspiration.  Happy Scrappin'!
