December Daily ~ 12/9

Hello all!! Jody here again with some more December Daily for you.  This has been a fun project to create and I hope everyone is inspired to create their own December Daily of sorts this year.  Today I'm sharing my December 9th page.  My countdown calendar is very layered with lots of different sized pages throughout.  You'll see my December 10th page peaking out from behind my little page 9 :)  I'll have lots of pictures on my blog today and Wednesday so please click over HERE!!  I've love to see you.

Here's another look at my kit too.  It's packed full of all kinds of embellishments, some of which didn't make it into my December Daily!  I have lots of left overs for Christmas Cards and even some holiday layouts.  More information on my blog.

I'll be back one more time this month, but until then soak up lots more Memory Works Design Team inspiration before the year ends!

Happy scrappin'!!

Day 18 of 30 Cards!

Only 36 days until Christmas... WHAT?!   Yes, my scrappy friends it's true.  Here in Wisconsin we've already had a dusting of snow.  It didn't last long, but we still got it just the same!  Just for fun, here's a link to a Christmas Countdown Clock HERE.

November is whizzing right by us!  Have you created some cards to link up yet??  I have created more than I've posted so far but will have to catch up on my creative blog this week.  We had our youngest daughter's 2 year birthday party on Saturday.  Lot's of cuteness to say the least!  So, don't forget to link up on the Memory Works Blog-30 Days, 30 Cards page HERE.

So, onto Day 18 during this month of card making madness!  Here's my sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

And my card!  I created with Fancy Pants, Merry Little Christmas, Simple Stories December Documented (black chalkboard paper), Studio Calico & Lawn Fawn Wood Veneers, a doily trimmed in half and my favorite May Arts natural burlap string.  This was a very simple and quick card to create.

And a closer view...

Thanks for tagging along this month!  We're loving all the Christmas card inspiration going on around here and we hope you are too.

Now, if you've created a few cards this month please link them up for your chance at a fabulous prize from Memory Works!  You can go to the linking page by clicking on 30 Days, 30 Cards in the top of the left side bar.  If you haven't created any cards yet, we hope you can make time to create in your busy schedule.  Many of these sketches are fantastic for using up scraps of patterned papers and take the guess work out of your design.

Happy card making!

Cards & Tags Thursday - Katie Skiff

Hello there!!  It's Katie again sharing some fun projects with you again this week.

Often times, the paper in a 6x6 paper pack is so great, it needs to stand out and stand alone.  The big, bold patterns sometimes need to take center stage. So I kept this card very simple, using papers from the Fancy Pants Park Bench 6x6 pad.  The turquoise strip is also a paper in that pad.

I used my Janome Mini to do some stitching around the edges and then I added the Happy flair from the Fancy Pants line as well.  I finished this card with a birthday sentiment stamp.

I like to have some tags on hand as well.  Often times, we get invited to last minute parties and I want to add a tag to our quick gift.

I used a tag die I have to create the base.  Then I pulled papers from the MME Memorable 6x6 pad.  These mini journaling sections were a fun addition to the tags as a place to jot a name.

I embellished both with the Brads pack and some ribbon and twine.

Cards & Tags Thursday - Katie Skiff

Hi there - it's Katie and I am very excited to be sharing my cards with you today.  Cards are my specialty!  I recently went on a spending spree with the new goodies in the MemoryWorks store.  I had to have way too much.
What did you get?

My first card uses papers from the new Fancy Pants Swagger line.  I always buy the 6x6 pads for cards.  I used a few pieces of the Ephemra pack to embellish the card.
This month's challenge over on the MemoryWorks Studio forum is to Go Green.(As seen yesterday!)    So I used part of the packaging from the ephemra pack (seen laying in front) on my card front.  I love when companies package their items cute!

This is another scrappy card, using ephemra from the FP Swagger line.  This time I used papers from Teresa Collins He Said She Said line.  They go well together.

Finally, anyone else fancy the mustache?  I had to pull that paper out right away and make a cute card.  This is from the TC He Said She Said paper pack, and the My Handsome Guy is from the matching 12x12 sticker sheet.    I added some hexagons down the side for a border and some black twine to finish this card.

All three of these make great Guy Cards.  That is somethng I struggle with, and with these two paper packs I am going to be ready for any challenge now!!

15 Days of the Holidays Day 6

Ho, ho, ho & Happy St. Nick!!  Jody here to give you a peak at my 6x6" December Traditions Mini Book.  I used a few sheets of wood grain patterned paper for my base and added Fancy Pants Home for Christmas, Studio Calico Wood Veneers & Mr Hueys, May Arts Burlap String, washi tapes and more!

This is where I'll document our yearly traditions.  Aren't those SC Wood Veneer Trees cute!!  I added a cute polka dot paper bag and tags for more hidden  journaling.  On the right side page, the jounaling block and little banner is from My Minds Eye All is Bright.  The washi tapes are from my stash.

My tip for you ~ Don't be afraid of vellum!!  This is Dear Lizzy's Treasured Terrace Vellum from her 5th & Frolic line.  This isn't a Christmas line, but it mixed in beautifully!  You just need to rember to place your embellishments or paper accordingly to the match each other on both sides.

Thank you for joining us again and make sure you stop back tomorrow to check out what Christy created.  I know it will be awesome!

You can also stop by my blog and check out how I made my 6x6" December Traditions Mini Book!

Card Crazy Saturday

Hi...It's Kelly joining you for Card Crazy Saturday! I've got 3 quick cards to share. These came together pretty quickly...a fun project for the long weekend, and there will still be time to relax with the fam :)

The first card I made with the Simple Stories Fab{U}lous collection.

Hello Friend:

I only used a border strip, a flashcard, and 3 stickers from the collection.  For a little something extra, I added a rhinestone, and a twine threaded button.

This next card is from the Bella Blvd Sunshine and Happiness Collection

Small Wonder:

I really love that lady bug...and thought it would be adorable for a baby card.

On this last one, I used Fancy pants' Wave Searcher collection.

The Best is Yet to Come:

I  wanted to make a card with this set, but had a hard time coming up with a theme.  I decided a retirement-ish type of card would be good.  It might even be ok for a graduation.

Those are them.....thanks for joining me, and I will be back next week with some more card love.  Have a safe weekend!

A New Year – A NEW Technique!

Happy New Year Everyone! Why not start the new year with a new technique? Who said scrapbook supplies had to go on pages and into albums? I, for one, am an advocate of showing off your talent for others to enjoy around your home. Your memories don’t always have to go in albums…

This is a home décor project I completed- it’s much simpler than you’d think!
Here is the supply list:

Fancy Pants Happy Together Theme Set (FP045)
Fancy Pants Happy Together Tags and Titles (FP054)
Fancy Pants Happy Together Journaling Cards (FP052)
Color Box Fluid Chalk Cat’s Eye – Dark Brown (CS012)
Button (previous express kit)

Other:
Hand stained hoop
Ribbon
Thread
Chenille cream flower
Crop a dile and copper eyelet
Ranger Mini Mister

Project Instructions:
Trim patterned cardstock of your choice to 10x10 inches.
Using a mini mister or any spray bottle, spray paper with water to soften then crumple in a ball to create wrinkles.

Ink paper as desired and let paper dry.
Place in hoop being careful not to rip edges of paper. Tighten screw to secure paper in hoop. Cut access paper on back of hoop.

Embellish with journaling cards and a small picture, just as you would a scrapbook page. Blend the hoop into your home decor for all to enjoy!

May your 2011 be happy, healthy and full of wonderful memories!
Happy Scrappin!
