Pure RETREAT goodness....!!

Can you beleive that the retreat is just ONE WEEK AWAY??? Where does all of the time go? So much more to do....with only one week left....but as always we'll pull through and have another fabulous experience. It's been awhile since I've popped up on our message board...and the reason...well working on all of the final details for the retreat of course...but then some aweseome new projects, programs and opportunities that we'll be announcing at the retreat! Ohhhhh I so wish all of the consultants could be at our VIP Consultant Meeting - we really have some juicy news we're going to share...but of course if you're not able to make the retreat we'll send the exciting news to ALL of our fabulous consultants too! Enough said.....don't want to spill the beans....

You can imagine that our warehouse is pretty darn crazy with all of the chaos preparing for the retreat - here are some fun photos that give just a little taste of what's in store next week. (And if you could see what's inside of those AMM boxes...yummmm....you'd seriously do the happy dance!)

The best part of the retreat for us is coming face-to-face with our consultants and customers - and we can't wait to see everyone again!! Come rested and relaxed - becuase let me tell you, you are in for one exhaustingly fun, inspiring, creative weekend!

See you next week....

Amber :)

The June Challenges are all a-buzz about paper piecing! Today we are talking about paper piecing. All you need to do this is a great little pair of scissors, a template (found on-line or in magazine's), some scraps and embellishments. You can personalize your pieces to fit your layout!

Here's some pieces I did...enjoy!

JUNE CREATIVE CHALLENGES ON THE MESSAGE BOARDS!

The lazy days of summer are upon us and it's time to use our "SUMMER SENSES" to scrap those summer memories! How do we use our senses to scrapbook, you ask? Well stop on over at the message board and check it out!

Today's Creative Challenge is all about the hot topic of HEAT EMBOSSING! Memory Works linked up with Tim Holtz and now sports his ultra cool embossing powders and inks! I am using the "Leather" distress powder in the photos below.

Here's the supplies you'll need to get started: heat tool, embossing ink and powders, and any stamps!

Step one: Stamp your image!

Step two: Apply powder and shake off excess!

Step three: Heat and set your image!

Stop on over and join us for the June challenges to learn some new techniques or re-vive some old one's. Either way, you can spark your creativity here at Memory Works!

Happy Scrapping!

Tiny Alphas: Small Size...Big Impact!

Ever since the 2009-2010 MemoryWorks Catalog released, I have been trying out some of the new products. The Making Memories Tiny Alpha sets have become one of my favorites! Now these may not be new to some of you, but they are new to the catalog and were new for me...and now I'm addicted! What makes these little gems so special is their size. I recently heard someone comment, "Well, I just don't know what I'd do with them," so I thought I'd share a few ideas.

One thing you can do with these petite little cuties is add information to a tag. See how I documented the date on this tag...which was part of a 12 X 12 layout.

You can also use the letters on small projects like this Post It Note cover...adds a little something extra without over-powering the project. By the way, they look great on handmade cards, too!

Finally, one of my favorite ways to use these letters is to spell out words you want emphasized in your journaling. (Thanks to TeamWorks member, Sandy, for the inspiration!) Again, just a little addition to the page, but what a great way to make an impact...and you're still using your own handwriting.

These are just a few ideas, but hopefully you'll see the possibilities are endless. The sets come in a variety of colors to coordinate with any project you may have. So give these little beauties a try, if you haven't already! Click here to view the Tiny Alpha sets as well as all the other fantastic Making Memories products available from MemoryWorks.

Oh the joys of a new baby!!! Whether it is your own, a niece, nephew, or friends, doesn't matter. Who can resist! Having said that, who can resist the adorable "Bungle Jungle" theme set a nd accessories by Sassafrass. Creative Design Member Lacy Igo created this adorable layout of her new nephew using this line along with Ranger Vintage Photo distress ink, Doodlebug Designs swimming pool sweet alphas and the Heidi Swap edge distresser. She also created the cutest birthday card, blocks and mini book using this same line.

What a perfect inspiration for all of those spring babies!! Go to http://www.memory-works.com/ and check out the rest of the sassafras line along with all the other great products Memory-Works has to offer.
