Hi! I am back to share a tutorial with you on how to make a dozen cards with two sheets of patterned paper, a few coordinating elements, rub-ons, and basic cardstock. For this set, I am using Basic Grey "Curio" theme set, Element Stickers, Curio Pieces, Bloomers, and the Basic Grey "Greetings" Rub-ons.
Here is a grid that shows cutting measurements to use on two, double-sided sheets of patterned paper.
First, make the vertical cuts at 8" and 4" as shown.
Next, make the horizontal cuts at 9", 6", and 3". You will end up with 12 @ 3" x 4" rectangles for each piece of paper that you cut.
This photo shows the cut piece of paper, with alternating rectangles flipped to the other side to show the patterns.
This photo shows the second piece of paper, after cutting and flipping. (I chose this paper because of the variety of botanical images like the butterfly, bird, etc.)
You mix and match the rectangles and adhere them to the folded cardstock using the same "sketch", basically one rectangle on top and one on the bottom, slightly overlapping in the middle. This will be more clear when you see the final photo of the dozen cards.
After adhering the rectangles to folded cardstock, add coordinating elements, like the ones shown here. The final step is to add the rub-ons. The "Greetings" rub-ons, from Basic Grey, coordinated beautifully with these papers. You could also use stamps here.
And here is the final product...one dozen cards! This is a good way to use up paper when you only have 2 sheets left from a theme set. This ideas works well for a make-and-take. Everyone uses the same card sketch and product line but each card will be unique. I'll be back later this month with a decorative way to store all these cards. Hint: 7 Gypsies.
