Product Showcase - Project Idea

I am so excited to share today's project with you. It's one of my favorite "Make and Take" projects! It is an easy and inexpensive project that has a practical everyday purpose. Today I am going to give you the steps to create your very own Sticky Note Holder.

Supplies You Will Need:

  1. 1 piece of paper measuring 8 1/4" x 4 1/2" for the cover of your holder. You will need to cut a 5/8" square from each corner (see the picture below for a visual example)
  2. 1 piece of paper measuring 6 3/4" x 3"  for the inside liner of your holder
  3. 2 pieces of card board (I use empty cereal boxes) measuring 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" for the front and back of your holder
  4. 1 piece of card board measuring 3 1/4" x 3/8" for the spine of your holder

You will want to start by gluing your three pieces of card board onto your cover paper as shown in the photo above. Notice that the corners of the cover paper have been removed. This is the result of cutting a 5/8" x 5/8" square from the corners. Once you have your card board securely attached, place adhesive on the four edges of the cover paper and fold them over the top of the card board.

You are now ready to attach your liner paper. You will want to apply adhesive to the back of your liner paper and secure it to the card board. It should overlap the edges of the cover paper giving you a finished look.

When you have your liner paper attached, use a bone folder or your finger nail to score the middle section. I also recommend folding the covers in to ensure that the "hinge" is working well. Next, you will add in your sticky note pad. No need to glue, just remove the back sheet of the sticky note pad and stick it in.

Now you are ready to decorate the cover! See how simple that was? This is a "Make and Take" project that you can use every day and when you use the last sticky note, you just put a new pad in! Here is the finished example I created for you.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy tutorial. I know you will love making these Sticky Note Holders, they are so addicting!
