Guest Designer Thursday - Norhalma Verzosa

Welcome back to another week with Norhalma! Today she is sharing some pictures of her scrap area.
*****

As I write this, half of my scrapbook supplies were already inside a couple of cardboard boxes, ready for our big move! We currently live in a small 1-bedroom apartment. Since we are now a family of three and having a baby requires a lifestyle change, we are happily plunging in the suburbs and giving up downtown living. We maybe transferring to our new home in a week or two and my my mom-cave awaits me there (smiling from ear to ear).

For now, I certainly don't have a craft room photo to share but I was able to take pictures of my Inspiration Wall! Some of you, if not all, might be familiar with Pinterest and all the fun, awe-inspiring ideas from different people - artists, organizers, bloggers, et.al - placing pictures on their virtual board.  I came across a photo of a crib turned into a wall organizer and thought how neat it was. I made my own version out of the my daughter's old crib railing.
And turn it into an Inspiration Wall.

I placed all sort of paper goods in here. At times, my finish handmade cards for me to see or a relative's card from the Philippines. Yes, we still receive post mailed letters and we love to read it once in a while. Since I only have a small corner in our bedroom and can''t spread 12" x 12" papers all the time, I use this to hang my lay outs, too. It's great because I can see the entire page and make some additions (like embellishments) if need be.

Being a very visual person, I find that I can create more with the supplies I have if I can see it. Sometimes, I'll use my Inspiration Wall and turn it into a Scrappy Wall if I'm working on longer projects. Using binder clips and round binders plus the sheet protectors, my pretty papers were instantly displayed and even adds a nice touch to my craft corner.

I hope you've enjoyed taking a peek on how I keep up with my scrapbooking even with a tiny space and that you've learned a thing or two about re-purposing what you have by giving it another life.

Thanks for sharing with us today Norhalma!

Challenge Me Wednesday!

Good morning and wonderful Wednesday to you all!  Thanks for joining me today for Challenge Me Wednesday.  This month we are spotlighting Tim Holtz products that Memory Works carries.  I decided to make a Christmas card.  To start I embossed three small manila tags using a Tim Holtz embossing folder brick pattern.  I then inked the front of the tag with Vintage photo and around the edges with black soot.  I paired this all up with Simple Stories 25 days of Christmas and added some vintage buttons from my stash.  I hope you like this card because I really had a fun time making if for you all.

Card Crazy Saturday

My family and I just returned from an awesome family vacation in California.  We enjoyed family time, playing outside, and lovely 80 and 90 degree temperatures.  However, when we got back to Washington, it was definitely fall time here.  I don't think I'm quite ready to let go of the summer and head into the fall/winter months.  So I couldn't resist using some more of my Simple Stories Summer Fresh to create these two cards.  For the first one, I used a pennant but turned it sideways for a different look.  For the second one, I created a tag first and then attached it to a card with some patterned paper.

Supplies used: Summer Fresh, AC Kraft Cardstock, Pop-up glue dots, AC Black Pen, Barn door Distress Ink

Supplies Used: Summer Fresh, AC Kraft Cardstock, AC White Cardstock, Navy inkpad, Fancy Pants-To the Moon Button, Green Baker's Twine, Simple Stories yellow ribbon

Thanks for taking a look and enjoy your {fall} weekend!!

Creative Friday - Sheri Feypel

Hi, my name is Sheri Feypel and I am so excited to be on TeamWorks  for another  year! I started scrapbooking about 7 years ago and joined MemoryWorks a few years later. My scrapbooking style is not defined, it’s sort of go with the flow-ish. Sometimes I like to “junk it up” with lots of embellishments and other time’s I like to keep it “clean.” It all depends on my mood.  My boys are the main subject of most of my scrapping, sometimes my husband or the dog grace a page. Besides for my MemoryWorks business, I am also an instructor at my local scrapbook store where I teach card making and layout classes. I am also the co-host large crops and weekend scrapbooking  retreats  with a friend. I also enjoy taking photos and exploring all that my camera can do.  When I am not scrapbooking  you can find me hanging  out with my family, blogging, shopping  for scrapbook  supplies or doing laundry.
Well, enough about me on to the good stuff... paper fun!
Back To School
I created this layout with the September Express Kit. I added a few other goodies including Thickers, Wood Veneers and Buttons.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back next Friday with more inspiration!

Guest Designer - Norhalma Verzosa.

Hello! Welcome to another edition of Guest Designer Thursday! Please give a warm welcome to our October Guest Designer Norhalma Verzosa!
Hi everyone, this is Norhalma. I am so thrilled and beyond excited to be posting and meeting you all as this month's Guest Designer. A bit about me: I am 29 years old and I love to travel. I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved here in Seattle more than two years ago to be with my husband. After 5 years of wonderful marriage, we are blessed with a baby daughter who celebrated her 1st birthday last June.

I started scrapbooking around 10 years ago, but probably way earlier than that. Back then, I use to keep journals and memorabilia of some sorts. I remember collecting pretty papers and swapping scented stationeries with my grade school friends. This addiction..err, hobby of mine lasted until I was old enough to come to my senses that there's a bigger world of paper-lovers. It seemed so long ago when cutting my photos into different shapes, adding a sticker, and writing a caption under it (e.g. "From L-R:" followed by names of everyone in the picture)  are all that there is to do when making a photo album and that cut-outs from different magazines and colorful paper are already my treasure trove. Well, you could just imagine how it all change when I got here. I must've slept and woke up on paper-paradise! Hubby, being the supportive and loving man that he is, bought me bunch of supplies and tools (I never knew existed) that made my old stuff seem so ancient. Then of course, online shopping, that eventually led me to finding Simple Stories. I joined Memory Works immediately after seeing the rest of the amazing products they carry.

Today, I would like to share with you some of the latest projects I've been working on. Since Halloween is just a few weeks away, I've created this "Spooky Paper Treats" from Pebbles' Tricks and Treats and Authentique's Bewitched line.
I used my die-cutting machine for the pillow box. Another option is to use glassine bags. Surely, children would love to be tricked and treated with this.

Then I made this card, too:
Who says Halloween should always be gloomy and scary. This fun card will definitely bring a cheer to someone's day.

This is all for now. I look forward to share more of my artwork and projects with you this whole month of October. Thanks for dropping by and I'll see you around!

Adorable projects Norhalma!! Thanks for sharing with us!

October Challenge: Let's get Techie w/Tim!

Hello, it's teamworks designer, Christine Pennington.  I have the privilege of hosting this month's challenge:  Stamp -or- Scrap w/ distress markers!

I was so excited when MW decided to carry some of Tim's Holtz's distress markers.  If you have not seen what they are all about, here is an awesome video by Tim.  Please take the time to view the entire video, there is so much valuable information.

I had a lot of fun creating my card. Here are the steps I did to make my Techie w/Tim challenge project.

Step one: I embossed a tag with one of Tim's embossing folders.

Step two: I laid down some color on my craft mat using distress marker Faded Jeans.  I wanted a watercolor effect so I added drops of water next to my ink.  Using a paint brush, I painted color on the non raised areas.

Step Three:  I dabbed Picket Fence Distress Stain on the raised part of the tag {the snowflakes}.

Step Four: I added Crystal Stickles & Distress Antique Bronze Stickles to the snowflakes.

Step Five:  I used a negative from a piece of cardstock that I cut snowflakes out of with Tim Holtz's Movers & Shakers snowflake dies.  I traced/colored a snowflake using Faded Jeans Distress Marker.  To keep with the watercolor look, I spritz the snowflake with water.  In this photo you start to see what I made with a piece of the tag I did my technique on.

I sure hope I have inspired you to make something fun with Tim's products...I can't wait to see what you all come up with month.  One lucky consultant will win a prize from the home office! Good luck!

Supplies:  BoBonny Mistletoe, Vanilla Tag, Ivory, White & Blue Cardstock, Tim Holtz Snowflake EB folder and dies, Tim Holtz Distress Marker Faded Jeans, Picket Fence Distress Stain, Crystal Stickles, Distress Antique Bronze Stickles, Pleated & Satin Ribbon, Bo Bunny Brad, & Pearls
