December Daily--Weekend Catch-up

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with holiday fun!  I sure did.  I'll start by backtracking to my December Daily set-up since this is my first post of the month.

I started with a red-spined Sn@p binder, the pages and protectors inside and added to that the December Documented Sn@p pages.  I didn't end up using all the the pages from both sets, so I cut some up and am making good use of all my materials.  I added in the December Sn@p 3x4 cards, the December Documented Designer Cardstock pack, and December Documented Pockets pack along with the 6x6 pad and other bits and pieces from my stash.  I titled my Daily "Waiting for Christmas" to go along with the Advent devotional I'm doing this season.  I layered up papers from the 6x6 pad, cards and pockets with a doily from my stash and ribbon left over from MME Lush collection (which I used for my daughter's wedding album).  I inked everything of course, that's just my style.  I set up my pages thinking about my month, leaving extra space in weekend pages for the extra activities we enjoy then.

There a lot of bits and pieces sticking out, that's also my style.  :)

Onto the weekend.  As you'll see it was all about food and snow.

I stamped all the day numbers with an old foam stamp set and punched them out with tag punches.  I used my Instax camera to take the pix so they could go right into the album.

As you can see I've included my Advent devotion right into the pockets of my Daily.  It is important to me to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas and this devotional is helping me stay focused on that in the midst of the constant barrage of materialism this season brings.  It just so happened that this week's message in church mirrored the message in my devotion so I tucked the notes right into the pocket behind my devotion notes.

I created this element by cutting a piece of cardstock 8 1/8" long, 3" wide and scored it at 4" and slid it right into the protector pocket, creating this little flap that allowed for an extra photo and journaling card.  I adhered a Sn@p pocket on the outside to tuck in the devotional notes.

So that was my weekend.  What about yours?  Did you cook,  bake, decorate, shop, enjoy time with family and friends, or just enjoy some quiet time before the rush?  I pretty much hit all of the above, and love this crazy time of the year.

Don't forget to stop by every weekday for new inspiration.

December Daily - December 6

It's December 6 and I am chronicling the 5th day of my December Daily.

I had to run to the DMV today before work and I decided to go the the Herald square office. When I got out at 34th Street, it's still a hike to exit the subway. But on my stroll through Penn Station, I came across 2 very different musicians. It was 7:45am and the station was so hectic that the music settled me down a bit and I was inspired to photograph them.

Happy Holidays

MemoryWorks December Daily - Day 5

I have never done a December Daily, so this has taken me lots of preparation and research… I know I probably put too much into finding ideas rather than actually getting it done…. Haa, Haa!  Anyhow, the MemoryWorks Team has been busy creating December Daily Albums.  I love all the creativity!  For my album, I was thrilled to do my rendition of Heidi Swapp's Files Album.  It is a pre-done album that you can just put pictures in if you want, but we all know that I like to bling it up, add ink and layer, layer, layer!  Here is the products that I am using on my album.
So without further a due… here is the cover and a few pages to show you what I've been up to.
Front Cover
Inside cover… we all need a calendar to keep us on track and that can be added to.
Day 1 - Trimming the Tree
Day 2 - Decorating the house
An added banner from Heidi Swapp's collection.
Day 3 - First Christmas Party of the Season…Ornament Exchange.  This ornament is chipboard which I cut from my Cricut.
It is hard to tell but the journaling has inking and the tag has inking and glitter!
A few pictures of the snow we had, a sticker and piece of chipboard.

Well, thank you for joining me and when you return next week I will show you more of what I've been doing are doing and some more of my December Dailys.  Check back here on the MemoryWorks blog for more inspiration to complete your December Daily!

December Daily - Dec 4th

Are you loving the December Daily albums so far?
I can't wait to see what else the Design Team has to share!
I have to confess, I loved making this little mini album and I hope you are inspired to create your own.
I used a Christmas book "The Night Before Christmas" as my album.
I cut the binding out with scissors and my large paper cutter
Then I bound the rough edges with washi tape
I punched holes in both covers and the pages with my Big-Bite
And clipped it all together with binder clips.

Here is what the front cover looks like:

And here is my Day 3:
I used Teresa Collins "Santa's List" papers and embellishments throughout my whole album
and on this page I added a Bo Bunny Doily a Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas Sticker and the Treble Cleft sticker from my stash.
I also left the words from the book showing on all of my pages ~

This page will have this photo of my son, Daniel's, first Band Concert!

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be back again in a few weeks with another day from my album.

December Daily ~ Day 3!!

Happy December!  I feel like December shouldn't be here yet, but hello reality!!  It's time to slow down a little and take time to enjoy some simple things.  It's our tradition every year for me to go Black Friday shopping, and then put up our tree that night. (Ok, ok maybe that's my tradition!)  We take a video our kids decorating our tree and love to go back and watch how they've grown over the years.  I hope you have a special tradition your family does every year!!
Our more recent tradition is do an advent calendar.  We have one that looks kind of like a barn and has doors that open.  I tuck either candy or a little note with instructions inside.  The kids get a kick out of the little notes I write!  Here's another version of an advent calendar, December Daily style!

I'm not including photos in this particular album, but you can easily add some small photos by using small photos such as a photo stripe.  I used a few different materials for the base of my December Daily ~ patterned papers, wool felt and canvas.  Yes, you can scrapbook on canvas and wood felt!  I used a variety of methods for adhering and attaching elements throughout my December Daily this year including tacky glue and machine stitching.

December Daily - Kick off!

Happy December Everyone! I'm so excited to kick off our December Event -- December Daily! There are 9 Teamworks Members involved in sharing inspiration throughout the month of December. Check back weekdays for some December Inspiration from the team. There is a large variety of products and styles, so don't miss out!

Today, I"m going to start with showing my Album cover, some tips on how I put it together and of course my Day 1 page!

Here is the kit I put together! (Check out this blog post for the content of this kit). My main paper line I'm working with is Studio Calico's Magical.

First off, my album cover and the overall structure of my album. Here is the cover.

Now, how did I put this album together? Simple! My album measures 4.25" h x ??" w. The interior is Simple Stories Sn@p! page protectors cut up.
  1. You will need 1 pack of Simple Stories Sn@p! Page protectors (3x4 / 4x6 Pocket Pages)
  2. I cut right above the 4x6 sleeve with my paper trimmer, making sure I didn't trim into the 3x4 sleeves
  3. The cover is made out of thing chipboard I had at home (for stability), cut to to the size of the page protectors (allowing for binding)
  4. The pack of 10 page protectors was not enough or me, since I'm doing a Full 31 days. So throughout the album I added non protected pages, tags, journaling cards, etc. to fill and give me 31 spreads!
  5. Using my WRMK Cinch Binding Machine, I bound the album together. This can album be done with loose binder rings if you don't have a binding machine.
If you have questions about this process, please let me know. Now onto day 1!

The opening of my album is actually a Calendar page. This is from the Sn@p Christmas (Sn@p Set). I have already marked a few key events on the calendar. Now to day one (finally). So December first consisted of homework and more homework. So much I was doing it non-stop from 10am till 2am (yes you read that right). But I did get a little break and had some Panera! Which is a totally highlight in my day. I also got some cuddles in in the morning with my sweet little puppy who turned 4 months on the 1st
