Cards & Tags Thursday - PM edition

Hello! Welcome to an evening edition of Cards & Tags Thursday! Today I have a few mini cards to share with you, check them out....

I know what you are thinking.... Christmas cards? Not really though, they are just winter themed cards! I must confess that I was taught a Christmas layout/card class recently and we made these cards in the class. It is never too early to build up your stash. These little cards are also a great way to use up some of the scraps from other projects. It's all about maximizing your supplies.

Take a closer look...
I used the negative from a punched out snowflake to create this little beauty. I popped it off a light turquoise cardstock. Love how this turned out, also a great way to put those negatives to use!

I took this photo at an angle so that you could see that the button is not threaded. I try to keep it simple when teaching classes and if you just tie the bow over  the button you almost cannot tell that it is not threaded. I told my class it was an "optical illision."

I may have a bit of an obsession with kraft cardstock, I like the rustic, natural look and feel it give my projects. I cannot get enough!

I used Echo Park's This & That Christmas line for all of my mini cards.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!

I'm in Love!

February is swiftly coming to a close and we've been playing all month with trends and products we love in the forum.  Here are a couple of great projects created by some MemoryWorks consultants:

First up is an easel card by Tessa Oxford--

She used chevron washi tape to create her background.  Very creative.

Next, a card by Erica Thompson--

She used neon ink to create the arrow background paper.  Wow.

And finally a card by TeamWorks member, Megan Peacock--

She used washi tape and the chevron border as her trends.

Three great cards from MemoryWorks consultants.  I am so inspired by their work, I know you will be too.

Creative Friday - Katie Skiff

TGIF - It's been a long week for me here, so I am happy to share some fun inspiration with you all on this great FRIDAY!!

I got my February MemoryWorks Express kit and the colors just blew me away!!  So bright and fun!!  I am a card maker more than anything, so I was drawn to some of the elements to make a few cards.

I cut out one of these journal cards from the sheet and thought it would be a fun sentiment.  I created some arrows and stitched them down the side, and finished the card with the cute ribbon.  I am a huge polka dot fan!!

The kraft tags from Pebbles called out to me too, so I used them to add a fun sentiment to the cards.  I tied this one to the card with the flowers in the kit.

Everyone always needs a Thank You card, so I created a simple background for this cute card.

I had some freshly printed photos and I thought the colors from my Grandpa's jacket and his cake matched the My Minds Eye papers in this months kit.  The Best ribbon is perfect way to sum up how great it is to be able to celebrate your grandfathers 90th birthday.

I trimmed off another journaling card for this layout as well.  A very fun finish to this layout.

I'm eyeing more and more fun stuff on the website this week.  This Unforgettable line from My Minds Eye is probably going to be one I stock up on!!

Thanks for the visit - I've enjoyed sharing with you these last two weeks.

Challenge Wednesday - I'm in Love

This month we have been challenged  to focus on a trend, technique or product we love  in a layout or card or project.

Here are a few of the Teamworks Team members examples:

Here is Gia's Beautiful submission - She chose Ombre as the trend to showcase

And Cathie's colorful  Chevron Card with Machine Stitching

On my layout I used this beautiful blue as a trending color, which I love!
I also used washi tape and a few small wood veneer snowflakes

There is still time to post your submissions for this month's Challenge!
