This is the final edition of July Express Kit Monday.  I think perhaps we have saved the best for last.  Now don't get me wrong the layouts and cards were wonderful but these altered projects that I am about to share with you are really something else!

First up is a travel folder that I made.  I wanted something cute to take on vacation to put my various vacation memorabilia in that would be safe.  I created this tri-fold folder using a patient information packet that my husband got at the doctor.  Once we had used the parts we needed I had this folder left and...

Folder front closed up

Left side of folder open

Right side opened up

Back of folder
And just look at this cute project that Jade Wilson created for you... What a warm welcome your guests will receive when they find this basket in their room.  Thanks Jade!

And finally, what a cute jar that Lacey Igo created for us.  There are so many possibilites for this darling altered jar!

Thank you so much for visiting every Monday this month.  I hope that you have been inspired to create something!

Card Crazy Saturday: Christmas in July! (part 2)

Hi everyone! Hope it's been a great week! Today is the second part of a two part series of Christmas cards created with current (summer themed) papers. For these cards I used the PB&J collection by BasicGrey. This line lends itself to fairly clean and simple cards. In keeping with that feel, I didn't do a lot of inking, and just added a little bakers twine or ribbon.

(I really like how this turned out. I popped up the small strip of torn paper to add depth to the card and to ground the chipboard houses.)

Okay, 6 Christmas cards down, 94 to go! (I think I may have to downsize that Christmas list!)

Have a fun and creative weekend!

Challenge Me Wednesday: Winter Holidays in July

Over in the studio we're thinking of the cold, crisp days leading up to our favorite winter holidays by creating layouts, cards and other papercraft projects using our current Memory Works product.  That's right, we're not using holiday themed papers, we're using Summer Fresh, Hello Sunshine!, Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane, Awesom, etc.  Let me share how creative these girls are:

Check out the texture she got on the tags.  Jody Spiegel Team Works

Cool vintage vibe.  Lacey Igo  Team Works

Great use of patterned papers for the gifts.  Tessa Oxford

This background paper has such a holiday feel, yet it comes from Echo Park's Charming-Graceful lines.  Deb L.

Now for some cards:

Simple Stories Awesome line?  Really?  You'd never know.  Kelly Hollbrook  Team Works

Love the layers Megan Peacock created here, along with the textured ornaments.

And one last project from me:

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy:  I took three pieces of paper from the 6x6 Bo Bunny Hello Sunshine! paper pad and punched  four scalloped circles from each piece of paper.  I folded each scalloped circle in half and using a wet adhesive I attached the circles back to back, lining up the scallops.  The wet glue gives you time to play with getting those scallops lined up.  Half-way through I put a scrap of ribbon down along the straight side of the circle.  I wasn't stingy with the glue here.  When I was done with the circles, I adhered the last side to the first side for a full ornament.  I glittered the edges of the scallops with some chunky blue-green glitter (Melissa Frances), glittering all the same sides, letting that dry, and then glittering all the other sides.  I love the retro feel I got with the colors and glitter.

So get your papers and supplies out and make some holiday inspired projects with what you have on hand.  You have until the 31st to submit your projects in the studio!  And in case you were wondering, only 152 shopping days until Christmas!

Hello!  I hope you are having a fabulous July! I have been having so much fun with this months Express Kit and I'm here this week to share some fantastic and creative cards that the design team has been working on.

I created four cards for you.  This first one was something that I was experimenting with and I think it is kind of cool.  I stenciled with copper paint on cardstock and then I punched circles and they fit perfectly over the large stencil dots!

These next three cards were really a lot of fun.  I used my Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser and my sewing machine!

And just look at these wonderful cards from Jade Wilson...

And the always creative Lacey Igo...

Thank you for joining me again this week.  Be sure to stop back by next Monday for my final edition of July Express Kit Monday!  You won't want to miss the creative altered projects that we are dying to share with you.

Card Crazy Saturday: Christmas in July! (part 1)

Hello all! This is part one of a two part series of cards inspired by our Wednesday challenge to create a Christmas layout using current--that is, summer themed--papers. This week's cards were created using the Simple Stories Summer Fresh line along with some bakers twine and a little bling from the stash.

Now, on to the cards!

(I love these little guys! They are stamped in brown Staz-on ink and colored with watercolor pencils. I added some some stickles and glossy accents for extra sparkle.)

Hope you enjoyed a little Christmas inspiration. Have a fun and creative weekend!
