Fall is in full swing here with all the pretty leaves and a chill in the air.  I can't believe that halloween is almost here.  I've been so busy with packing and moving that the month went by even faster.  What better way to celebrate this time of year with some more halloween inspiration.  If you haven't gotten the MW October 2012 Express kit yet, it's not too late.  In the kit are 3 letter size file folders in orange and black.  You might be wondering, what can I do with these?  Well, this week fellow team member Jody Spiegelhoff has shown us a very cute way of using them.  Now brace yourself, for this AWESOME and CUTE project she made with the file folders.  Trust me, I'm in love with this too!!

Card Crazy Saturday

It's in the air. Can you feel it? Everything gets just a little spookier this time of year and I love it! I'm talking, of course, about Halloween! Playing dress up was always one of my favorite things to do growing up so naturally a holiday where dressing up is totally accepted (if not expected) is right up my alley. We always try to go all out for Halloween with lots of decorations and fun activities. I always send out Halloween cards too! Truth be told, they are some of my favorite cards to make. I might slack off on my Christmas cards and end up having to send out half store bought cards but I always have enough Halloween cards to go around! This year is no different. With all of the great Halloween papers and embellishments available from MemoryWorks right now, I had no trouble coming up with a few cards worthy of my Halloween stash!

First up is this Trick or Treat card. All of the papers are from the Authentique Enchanted Collection. I used a  piece of the solid black paper as the base and trimmed a piece of patterned paper down a 1/4 inch on each side. Next, I used a piece of the antiqued cream paper and die cut it and stamped it using some items from my stash. The orange felt was die cut and added to the center for a little pop of color.

My second card I used Authentique's Enchanted Collection again and being true to my "use all the scraps" nature, I used pieces I had left from my first card to create this card. This collection of paper has images on both the front and the back so flipping some of my scraps over gave me a new set of papers to work with. I simply trimmed the scraps, die cut a few, stamped a few and managed to create a completely different card. This is one reason I love working with collections of paper, I already know the papers coordinate and that takes the frustration of matching and guessing out of my creative time.

Next Saturday I'll be sharing a card from one of our other MemoryWorks consultants and a card I created that was inspired by that card. Until then, I hope you're feeling extra spooky and ready to start on your own Halloween cards! Thanks for getting creepy with me today, I'll see you next week!

Inspiration Friday - Kelly Holbrook

Kelly has been a Memoryworks consultant since 2006, and scrapbooking since 1998. She is a stay at home mother to five children whom she homeschools. When she isn't busy with that, or scrapbooking, she enjoys knitting, running, and photography. Some of her favorite techniques include embossing, stamping, and water color. She like clean lines on most of her projects, with just a little something to make them pop.

Hi!  It's Kelly, and I am here to share a page today that uses up some bits and pieces left from Echo Park's Charming theme set.

Say Cheese!

Supplies used:  Echo Park Charming 12 x 12 paper pack, Journaling Cards, Element Stickers, and Alpha Stickers.

I love going back and trying to use up leftovers. It forces creativity, and sometimes results in some of the best pages!

So, even if you think there's not a lot left from a kit...go back and look again. Challenge yourself, it's fun to see what you can come up with.
I will be back next week with some projects using Jenni Bowlin's Wren collection from the new catalog...I'll see you then!

Guest Designer Thurday - Norhalma Verzosa

Hey! Welcome Back, today we are going to take a peek at some of the goodies Norhalma created with the October Memory Works Express Kit! Check them out.....
*****
Hello-ween to you all! I'm back today, this time showcasing the Memory Works Express Kit. I had so much fun with this kit and up to writing this post, I am still making a few crafty things with it. These are loaded with super cute Autumn/Halloween colors that will surely inspire you to create beautiful projects.

It's nice to be able to work on my daughter's Halloween photos from last year. You could tell how fun it was for her to be placed inside the pumpkin. Here it is:

Our pumpkin princess also attended her first costume party. Using the neon green paper is a good contrast to the warm and dark colors of our pictures.

How about some quick and simple but extra elegant Halloween cards?

You might be wondering if this next card is made using this month's kit. Yes, in fact, it is. The colors are more alive and vibrant in person.

And this last one will be occupying a space in our new house's front door.

I hope you enjoyed my projects. I'll see you next week for a quick project tutorial. Thanks for hanging out with me.
**********

Great Projects Norhalma! This months kit was jam packed with product and I'm willing to guess that Norhalma will be creating even more with her left overs!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Challenge Me Wednesday-TH Distress Markers

Hello! It's Lynn sharing a card that I made for the consultants' challenge this month.
Christine challenged the MemoryWorks consultants to create a project using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I used the same technique Christine showed us earlier on this blog.

First, I stamped the tag, then let the ink dry.  Next, I colored a puddle of "Spiced Marmalade", using the Tim Holtz Distress Marker, onto my craft mat.  I added a tiny bit of water to it and then brushed it on to my tag, using a horizontal motion.  That gave me the "streaky, spooky" sky.  Patterned papers are from Simple Stories "Take a Hike" line.  Thanks for looking.  Hope you are inspired to get inky today!

Card Crazy Saturday

I loved this card when I first saw it back in August and still love it so I decided to scraplift it for Card Crazy Saturday:) It was posted in the MemoryWorks forum by Megan Peacock. I love the little clothesline and the cute "Hang in There" saying to go along with it. So here's Megan's original card:

and here's my take using the Summer Fresh line:

Supplies Used: Simple Stories Summer Fresh kit, Green baker's twine, AC Kraft cardstock, Navy inkpad

Hope you have a great weekend!
